Yarn : 100% acryl and multicolored, single color works well too.
Yarn : 100% acryl and multicolored, single color works well too.
Hook size: H/5mm
Stitches used: ch, dc, fpdc, dc foundation chain (can be replaced with ch and sc)
This pattern uses US crochet terms. You may find the abbreviation and the translation to UK crochet terms here.
Row 1: Start with dc foundation chain 73st (odd number of st). The chain should be long around 48cm/19in. That is the size for adult (can be longer for men/older woman). If the yarn is not stretchy enough you may want to add few more stitches. Turn
Row 2: ch3, dc in each st till end, turn (73 dc).
Row 3: ch3, *fpdc in next dc, dc in next dc*, repeat from * to * till end, turn
Row 4: ch3, *dc in next fpdc, fpdc in next dc*, rep from * to * till only 2 st are left, dc in each st, turn
Row 5: rep row 3
Row 6: rep row 4
You may repeat row 3 and 4 for the width desired.
Last row: ch3, dc in each st till end. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
Now sew the edges or you may add buttons.
I've added two buttons. For the button holes just join the yarn on one of the sides, chain 5 (or more for bigger buttons), ss to the side, then sc in each ch back. Repeat one more time for the second button chain.
