1. This pattern is worked in rounds, each round ends with ss
2. Each row starts with ch and sc or dc in same st
3. If you are using different hook size or yarn make the hat crown slightly bigger than usual as it will shrink a little.
4. The colors are changed every two rounds.
Pattern:
Round 2:
Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st, ss at end (20 st).

Ch 2, * bpdc in the dc under the sc row (this is the special stitch, make sure you work in the dc under the sc row you have done in the previous round), now do a normal dc *, repeat * - * around, ss at the end.
Round 13
Ch 1, sc in same st, sc around, ss at the end
Round 14
Repeat round 12 with color C
Round 15
Repeat round 13
Round 16 - 29(toddler)/31(adult)/35(men size)
Keep repeating round 12 and round 13, alternating colors till you reach the required lenght.
Finish off with a row of sc followed by a row of dc.
That is!
Find me on
I make chemo caps for my local Cancer Center and I try not to make the guys hats too boring. Lol
ReplyDeleteDuring the Summer and Fall, I use cotton because it is cooler, absorbs moisture and breathes. Southern Mississippi is hot and humid. Thanks for a not so boring pattern.
I am always looking for different caps to make. This one will be a "go to" pattern for a man's hat. Thanks so much!
