Grille stitch










Beautiful, colorful, no holes. Try this Grille stitch pattern with change of colors each row. The pattern uses only basic stitches - single, double crochet and a starting chain.

This pattern uses US crochet terms.

Abbreviations:
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet







Pattern:

Chain uneven number of stitches (multiple of 2 + 1).

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd st from hook. * dc in next st, sc in next st *. Repeat * - * till the end of the row, end with dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 2: Join new color, ch 1 and sc in the same st, * dc in next st, sc in next st*, repeat * - * till the end of the row, end with dc in the last st. Turn.
The dc should be in the sc of the previous row, the sc is in the dc of the previous row.

Repeat row 2 as many times as you wish with different colors.
