Gauge: doesn't really matter. For hairpin it looks better with thin yarn and small size hook. I've used hook size 3mm
Yarn: one of your choice with the desired colors - I used green, red, white and small amount of lame yarn for the star edge
This pattern uses US crochet terms
Star:
Start with magic ring, ch 1, sc 9 in the magic ring, ss in ch1
Row 1: ch1, sc in same st, *1 sc in next st, 2sc in next st*, rep from * arond (15 st), ss in ch1
Row 2: ch1, *hdc and dc in next st, ch 2, dc and hdc in next st, sc in next st*, rep from * till end, ss in ch1
Row 3: join contrast color (I used lame yarn) and sc in each st, 2 sc in each of the 2 ch at each star top around, ss at the end, cut the yarn, weave in the end
Circle:
Start with magic ring, ch 2, 9 dc in the magic ring, ss in ch2
Row 1: ch2, dc in same st as ch2, 2 dc in each st till end, ss in ch2
Row 2: ch2, dc in same st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st *, repeat from * till end, ss in ch2, cut the yarn, weave in end
Tail:
Ch 21, sc in second st from hook, 2 sc in same st, 3 sc in each st till end
Make one more tail
The tail in the middle is slightly longer - make it the same way as the other two but I've chained 26 ch instead
Sew a snowflake with white color in the center of the star.
Sew all parts as shown on the picture together.
And finally attach them to a hairpin or hairband
That's all :)
