Rocking star stitch









The rocking star stitch is an easier variation of the star stitch. The pattern repeat is quite simple and easy to remember and you need to know only sc and ch st. If you look for easy textured stitch try it out.





This pattern uses US crochet terms.

Abbreviations:
ch -chain
st - stitch
yo - yarn over


Pattern:





Make a starting chain with even numbers of ch.

Row 1:

Insert the hook in the second st from the hook and pull a loop, then insert the hook in the next ch and pull a loop. Now you should have 3 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through all, ch1 . *Insert the hook in the last worked ch and draw a loop, then insert the hook in the next two ch and pull a loop (4 loops on the hook, yo and pull through all, ch1*, repeat * - * till only 1 st is left, insert the hook in the last worked ch and pull a loop then insert the hook in the last st and pull a loop, yo and pull through all loops on the hook. Turn.


Row 2: 

Ch 1, insert the hook in the same st and draw a loop, then insert the hook in the next st and draw a loop. You should have 3 loops on the hook. Yo and pull through all of them, now make one ch. * Insert the hook in the last worked st and draw a loop, then do the same for the next 2 st (4 loops on the hook),  yo and pull through all the loops, make a ch *. Repeat * - * till one st is left. Insert the hook in the last worked st and pull a loop, then in the last st left and pull a loop (3 loops on the hook). Yo and pull through all loops. Turn.

Repeat row 2 to desired lenght.
