This crochet heart is bigger than mini heart and can be used as embelishment for bags, hats, headbands etc...

This pattern uses US crochet terms.

Yarn: worsted weight yarn 100% cotton 
Hook size: 5mm/H (hook size conversion chart)

Stitches used: ch, hdc, dc, sc

Finished size: around 2.25in/5.5cm long, around 2.5in/6cm wide

Pattern:

The pattern uses as a base this one. 

Row 1:
ch3, now work in 3rd ch from hook - 5 dc, ch1, 6 dc, ss

Row 2:
Now continue working in round (no chains at start).
hdc in ch2 from previous row, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st, hdc in next 2 st, dc in ch 1 st (you should be now at the bottom st of the heart), hdc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next st, then 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc, hdc, ss in the top of the heart

Row 3:
Continue working in round (no chains at start)
hdc, 2hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, hdc in next 3 st, 2 hdc, hdc, hdc, (dc, ch, dc - this is the bottom st of the heart), hdc, hdc, 2 hdc, hdc in next 3 st, 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc, hdc, ss in the top st of the heart.

Weave in ends
